Wait for Me 03:57
HIM: I don't have a reason I don't have an answer for my fear it's pulling on my heart I don't have you here. HER: Don't be scared to lose this I'm not going anywhere, my dear be steady with your heart just know I need you near. CHORUS: I need you here with me. Make me the one that you believe will bring the quiet into all that's uncertain… wait for me. HIM: Tryin' hard to keep you Losing you is more than I can bear and should we ever break could I be repaired? HER: I don't need temptation I don't want perfection anyway But if you're gonna change Please don't slip away. CHORUS: Still need you here with me. Make me the one that you believe will bring the quiet into all that's uncertain… wait for me. Yeah…Whoa… TOGETHER: Still need you here with me. Make me the one that you believe will bring the quiet into all that's uncertain Still need you here with me. Make me the one that you believe will bring the quiet into all that's uncertain … wait for me.

If I spent the day writing down the ways your love has stamped its shiny on my heart I'd run out of time searching for a rhyme cuz words can only go so far there's so much more to who you are so much more to what you mean to me our love is just the perfect melody. Ba da da dum… I could never sing of every little thing that makes me leave these chocolates at your door They're overplayed cliches faulty serenades, 'cause words are only black and white I never get my thoughts quite right but i could sing of you in every key... our love is just the perfect melody Could it really be? (oh you are everything I need) and life is beautiful with you beside me (oh I'm done with all of these silly games) Each and every day in perfect harmony a simple song for you and me Darling never change sing to me every day cuz words can only go so far there's so much more to who you are and I could sing of you in every key This music sung in harmony is sweeter than a symphony our love is just the perfect melody. Ba da da dum…

If I had another eye, I'd see the whole world Two to keep me between the lines, as the road turned One stayed on the setting sun, behind me if I had the eyes to see. Alone I keep a steady keel, my conscience timing like an idle wheel, across the distance ever wishing you were here to give me grace to fill the empty space. Singing, oooooh…. x4 This old North Dakota blue is an ocean Deeper than the fields we knew and when I'm feeling very small and overcome our song will guide me home Singin', oooooh … x4 this wandering road this wandering road.

For Now 03:18
I'm past believing there's more to what I see I'm hardly breathing from the way you look at me You could be just what I need. CHORUS: You make my heart stop, open up we don't have to wait on love I feel the pulse rush, live it up fine without the weight of love I might be head over heels but I'm standing my ground say you're crazy for me but I won't stick around make my heart stop, baby you make my heart stop… for now. I don't care how you make your money I don't need to know your last name conversations bore me honey I'm guessing that you feel the same. do you feel the same? CHORUS: You make my heart stop, open up we don't have to wait on love I feel the pulse rush, live it up fine without the weight of love I might be head over heels but I'm standing my ground say you're crazy for me but I won't stick around make my heart stop, baby you make my heart stop… for now. BRIDGE: I won't be here for much too long So hold me close before the moment's gone CHORUS: You make my heart stop, open up we don't have to wait on love I feel the pulse rush, live it up fine without the weight of love I might be head over heels but I'm standing my ground say you're crazy for me but I won't stick around I'm not playing the game, I'm just laying it down make my heart stop, baby you make my heart stop… for now.

Third of December, wrapped in a blanket you sat by the window, studying silently we drank our coffee, thought of the night gone by. A page of your notebook, we laughed as I tried to decipher your writing the axis was tilting, everything shifting then I was falling. Trying hard to hold it in with worn-out pages that I lock myself in I can't keep enough to feel complete like water pouring through my fingers Early evening, moonlight as soft as the song we were singing counting our steps as we circled the square everything faded away This is the present, this is the rock that I keep in my pocket my souvenir of this one perfect moment, do you remember? I'm trying hard to hold it in with worn-out pages that I lock myself in I can't keep enough to feel complete like water pouring through my fingers like water pouring through my fingers. This rock I keep in my pocket This piece I hold.

about

The Idle Hours are moments that pass unnoticed, drawn together by the meanderings of two curious minds, wrapped in melodies and sung at sunset on a Southern porch. It began with two wanderers, Marc Lacuesta and Alfa Garcia, who met at a Nashville dinner party one winter evening in 2011; he was sipping red wine, she was passing through town while hurtling to a new life in L.A.
After years of traveled miles, porch-writing sessions, and hours in many studios, the pair finally releases its debut EP, featuring a handful of songs written and recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles.

The Idle Hours is a duo project by LA singer/songwriter Alfa Garcia and Nashville songwriter/producer Marc Lacuesta. Inspired by a diverse catalog of music - from country, to pop, to rock, to classical - the pair got inspired to create songs after meeting at an East Nashville dinner party in 2011.
